Erica Hartley

DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Erica has as a professional background in small business operations, sales, marketing, and education. Her experience uniquely contributes to the successful planning and execution of our development projects. As Development Manager, she is responsible for all phases of development, including the implementation of site selection, financial analysis, raising capital, entitlements, design, construction, stakeholder coordination and communication, and the delivery phase of the development project.

Before joining the UC-B team in 2022, Erica spent five years learning every aspect of owning and managing a small business as the Sales and Marketing Manager for her family-owned franchise of Merry Maids. While she was initially brought in to manage sales and marketing execution, her role within the business quickly grew to encompass daily operations. For six years prior, Erica was a professional educator, mainly teaching high school history and broadcast journalism. In these roles, she demonstrated a high level of operational and project management, critical thinking, and problem solving skills, which have been essential in her role as Development Manager.

Erica graduated from the University of Missouri Columbia with a bachelor’s degree in mass communication and a minor in journalism. Later, she earned a master’s degree in education from the University of Missouri Kansas City.

Erica is married to her husband, Paul, and they have two children, Owen and Audrey. They reside in Mission Woods, Kansas, where Erica serves as a member of the City Council and the steering committee for the Rainbow Boulevard Complete Streets Traffic Plan.
